Bears are always my favorite subject to draw so when I drew these polar bears I had to think of a picture to put them in. Just for a change these bears are at the Zoo.
It has come to my attention that my pictures are often flat so in this illustration I have tried to add depth by placing my bears in the middle of the picture. I really like using the colours from the harmonies swatches, they are a little brighter than those from the CMYK .
Oh Michelle, your scene is wonderful and all your art is wonderful!!! What do you mean by this statement? I don’t see your art as flat at all but then I have had that very same critique! Oh well, can’t please them all! But all the same I adore your art, it imparts a feeling that makes me smile inside and out and that’s what I am looking for and going for myself!
Awww… that little bear reminds me my nephew’s kitty. She’s playing all the time and looks as cute as that white lovely baby you drew, Michelle.

I love polar bears and am so sad at their endangerment. It’s nice to see them plump and happy in your pictures. I like the bright colors too.
