This illustration was created as a result of one of those exciting phone messages left on my machine. “Could you please call me regarding some illustration work?” I was asked to submit an illustration for a pre-school board book on occupations. I haven’t heard any-thing for about two weeks now so I doubt that I am going to get the go ahead. But on the positive side I am so pleased that I was asked to submit and that my work has been considered by an author and viewed by a publisher.

When you’re the third child in the family you get away with so much more. I had to pretend to growl at Chloe for doing this and then I secretly took a photo of it so I could remember how cute it was.

Not much drawing as tonight I have finished writing 120 Art report comments. Next I have to check them and then add them onto the school server. So another week goes past and no IllustrationFriday for me.

However I am inspired! Next year it will be my goal to learn photoshop. Drawn led me to this tutorial by Bob MacNeil.

Also I just love the work of Felicitate.

I’m getting my students to draw owls this week so thought I’d do some pictures in preparation for these art classes.

My neglected blog

Garden gnome

I think that I need to go back to the drawing board now and have my gnome doing something not just standing there. I guess that would change it from a picture to an illustration?
