It roses time again.

Posted on Sunday 22 October 2006

At last we are starting to enjoy some warmer weather. My roses are starting to bloom.

I think when Summer hits it is going to be long and hot with plenty of water restrictions.

Smitten

Posted on Saturday 14 October 2006

I can vaguely remember Pepe le Pew who was smitten by a black cat with a white paint stripe on it’s back. I have to admit I have never seen a skunk in real life so I checked out a few photos of them and came up with this drawing.

I think this skunk in particular looks smitten.

I don’t know if it’s cheating when you post something from along time ago. But this is a favorite poem of mine.

Quiet

Posted on Sunday 1 October 2006

I always find watching fish quiet and peaceful. Check out all the great entries on Illustration Friday .quietfish2.jpg
I quite like this picture as a black and white line drawing.

While some people like to study spiders, those with phobias start running!

This was my starting picture, the water colour paints are finally out.

Farm

farm2.jpg
I was lucky enough to spend time living in Wodonga. A regional city surrounded by a farming community. (There weren’t any of those lovely red barns on these farms, only sheds). However the skies were always clearer and the stars brighter when viewed from the paddocks.
My picture this week shows the animals enjoying the night sky.
P.S. As I had to take down my old blog due to the horrible comments and links added by undesirable sites. I thought I might repost some old pictures. This one fits farm perfectly.scarecrowfresh.jpg

Safe – I don’t think so?

Posted on Wednesday 6 September 2006

I don’t know why but all week I’ve been thinking the word was danger ( I must be brain dead#!). So feel free to just ignore this picture or interpret it as the title suggests. dangerlurking.jpg
Anyway I have experimented by scanning into Illustrator upholstery samples. The illustration required patience as each layer is made from a separate clipping mask. A question for the experts out there. Can I make swatches out of these samples and avoid the whole clipping mask thing??

Swatches and more swatches.

Posted on Friday 1 September 2006

Yesterday a box of furniture swatches arrived in the artroom. Not wanting this opportunity to pass I am busily scanning them into my computer with the thought of making some collage pictures in illustrator. Now this will be a challenge especially for me who relies on the use of line so much. I will have to concentrate on shape and colour. If only there was another day in each week. I am finding it increasingly hard to juggle three days working and family and finding time to create. swatchphoto.jpg
Here is a fox hiding behind the tree, a part of my picture for Illustration Friday.
